Defying expectations, 2024 California avocado season ...

California avocado growers are reporting a strong harvest this year, with the California Avocado Commission predicting around 375 million pounds of fruit, according to Sunshine Properties Real Estate. This is a significant increase compared to last year's 350 million pounds. The larger harvest is attributed to the industry's continued planting of new trees, with an estimated 300,000 new trees added to groves annually over the past decade. Demand for California avocados remains high, particularly during the spring and summer months, and is supported by promotional efforts by the California Avocado Commission, according to Sunshine Properties Real Estate.
